Observing and appreciating nature

As it has started to become nice out, and changes are occuring in the environment around us, students have taken a great interest in gardens, insects, and keeping the environment nice and clean. Today we observed all the beautiful changes that have happened in The Queens Botanical Garden. It is so amazing to see how the students payed attention to detail, and how they used water color to enhance their images. Through the conversations we had students were talking about all the different shapes of the flowers and even started a conversation about how they could "build a garden castle." This is so interesting because they have built a castle in the classroom and have even built one in the garden outside.  As we continue our journey on plants, nature, and castles, I am so interested to see where this leads us as a class.
