What we have been doing!!

I can't believe the second week is all ready over. Thank you parents for your support last night at open school night.  It was so great to see everyone and talk with you about what is going on in our classroom. Remember that our trip to Red Mango is on Thursday Septemeber 30,2010.  I can not wait. The students have been talking about ice cream so much that we will begin to do a project on it, starting next week and through the month of October. Also a reminder that book orders are due by next Thursday as Friday there is no school for Pre-k only.

Some things that we worked on this week were the letter a. We looked for the letter in the classroom and learned how to write it. We also came up with words that start with A. In math we focused in on counting and finding out the ages of everyone in our classroom. We made an age graph, and a age collage. During centers today we traced our bodies and cut them out. We have been talking a lot about ourselves this week and what makes us so special. We touched briefly on families and how each family is different and special in their own ways. We will continue to talk more about this on Monday.

We are really working hard on routines and rules, and I am so pleased to see how many of the students are doing things on their own. The class is beginning to socialize more and students are talking to each other on a daily basis. It is so great to see how much they have already done in two weeks. Have a great weekend and I will talk to you next week. Below are some pictures of activities that we did in school this week.!!!
