Full day of learning

Today was the second full day of Kindergarten. The students have been doing a really great job at listening and following directions. We have done some guided discoveries with pattern blocks, linking cubes, pens, pencils, markers, and colored pencils. We also looked at how readers use books and how they turn them from the corners when they  are reading. When you are at home reading with your child have them practice turning from the corner of the book to help them get into the habit of using books correctly. Students have also been practicing their morning routines, how to walk in the hall correctly, what to do during lunch time, and recess time as well as what to do in their special classes. This week they have been to science with Ms. Mark, Movement with Ms. Dimian, and music with Ms. Corrine. Here are some photos from our explorations.!

D made a rocket with pattern blocks

Before we really dig into the deep learning that will be done this year, it is very important that we go through the rules and routines everyday. At home you can help by asking your child to show you the signs for bathroom, water, and what to do when they need to ask a question or talk. Have a great rest of the week.
