centers

On Friday students were introduced to new centers in the classroom. They had time to explore in the sand and water center. They also listened to books on tape, used puppets, and were given pointers to help them look through and "read" books.  The use of pointers is helpful in emergent readers as it teaches the students to use the pictures to tell the stories and recognize that when you read , you read from left to write. The students were also given time to explore and look at different texts.
