Queens College, art program and more

Yesterday we went to Queens College to watch a play on Butterflies and their lifecyle. The students were able to watch and observe the puppets as well as listen to people act out the play with music and props. It also showed them how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly and went over the lifecycle .

Today students started their art program with Mr. O. Mr. O will be coming in every Tuesday to do different art projects with the students. At the end of the program they will be displaying their work at a show for all of them to see. Today he started with tearing and pinching and used the book  Night at the Fair by Donald Crews to inspire the students to just use paper to create a picture. They did not finish and will continue to add to this as the weeks past. Here are some pictures from today.

Today also during guided reading, students in my group read a book on animals. When they were done they created bubble maps which is an animals name in the circle, with different adjectives around the outside to tell about the animal.
