Our first full day.

Today was our very first day of Kindergarten, and boy was it interesting to watch the students, and see that they still need things broken down slowly.  I found that they need reinforcement of how to push in their chairs, line up and even sit on the rug. Some things that you can do to help with this at home are 1: have your child help you with things around the house, practice pushing in chairs, and even reinforcing what the criss cross hands in your lap looks like.  Although we will be doing different academic tasks in school, the first entire month is really about routines and the reinforcement of these routines.

A few other reminders is that 1: make sure all forms have been filled out and are being returned to school. Most of you have done this so thank you very much!!!! Be sure to send in your email address as this is a great way to maintain communication as well.  Last remember to send in a healthy snack on a daily basis. Last but not least remember to do something fun outside with your child as the weather remains nice. A great place to visit is the Queens Botanical Garden, and The Queens Zoo.  Have a great rest of the week and if you have any questions feel free to post on this blog or email me at One last thing is a fun, free website to use!!!!
