A great first day

Today was the first day I was able to meet families and students. I was so nervous and excited at the same time. It was so great to see the smiles on the students faces as they waited to enter into their new learning environment for the year. Some of the students were a little shy and nervous, but by lunch time you could already see they were starting to open up. Today we learned about the chime signal, how to use the bathroom, and how to walk to and from the rug. They did such a great job for their first day of kindergarten. We also met and learned each others names. This is a very important part of Morning Meeting. We will always meet each morning and say good morning to each other to help set the tone for the day.We will also have a share time, followed by an activity, and then read the message. I will be sending home a share schedule starting in October. Overall it was such a great day and I can't wait to see everyone tomorrow!!! Here are a few photos of students working at their tables today as they did a guided discovery with crayons and paper.

This year I will be trying different seating arrangements to help students feel comfortable and move around when they do their work!

Ms. Mark our science teacher came in to take photos for her classroom!

As always if you need anything don't hesitate to email me at charlenecruse@gmail.com
Lastly many notices were sent home today. Make sure you clean out your child's folder and return all papers that say bring back to school.
