Welcome Back

Happy New Year, and welcome back. It was so nice to see everyone today, and hear all the wonderful stories about everyone's vacation experiences.  We started our day working on what we have learned about bears, which has led us into phase 3 of the project approach. We are hoping to create a movie or a play and will see where this takes us in the next upcoming weeks.

We looked at the letter M today and read a poem with many different M words.
In math we are working on joinging and taking away with stories and drawings.  One book that we read that really helped the students out is The Mitten by Jan Brett. A great website to go to is http://www.janbrett.com/ . This website will give you links about the story and you can even print  out the animals to create a puppet show or story. The animals in the story are related to animals that hibernate in the winter.  I also wanted to say that the packets that were sent home over break, were so great to look at today. It is amazing how much students have grown since September. They are beginning to write on their own!!! Have a great week and I will talk to you soon.
