I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend, and did some nice things outside. The weather was great!!! Tomorrow is our trip to the library and I am so excited. Also from now on every Thursday from 11:25-12:22 students will be working with Ms. Best from the Met Opera Guild, learning all about music and how to use their voices. They will in the end be putting on a performance.
This week we are learning all about the letter D. Some activities to do at home with your child would be to look for where they see the letter D, and if they find any objects or words around the house.
In math we are still working on counting, one to one, and playing a variety of games daily to enhance this.
In centers students are still working on learning all about families, and they have become very interested in leaves and learning more about them. Today some students did an investigation outside with leaves, and as an assignment I have asked them to bring in leaves that they find outside to help us complete our project based on the book Leaf Man.
I also am sending home a family project tomorrow that will be due October 25,2010. The theme is what we are thankful for, and also don't forget to send in a pumpkin. Thanks again and have a great week!!!
